100% Q: How can I get the American Diabetes Association to stop sending me address labels?
I get about 1 set a month, and they are starting to drive me crazy. I hate throwing them out, and I feel bad using the labels without donating every time. Who do I ask to stop sending them?
A:I solved this problem when the sender took no notice of my request that they stop sending them to me, I saved up about weeks collection of other mailings and sent them all to them, as return to sender, they have to pay for returned mail and they don't like that. I never got any mailings after that. I heard of one case where Video cassettes were being continually being sent for approval and the sender paid no attention to requests to stop, and the recipient packed up a brick and sent it with the pre-paid return label, the sender was furious as he had to pay quite a bit due to the weight, but he never sent any more cassettes.

100% Q: I donated a car to American Diabetes Association; do I send an original or copy of this?
I can't remember the name of the form I send. However, do I send a copy or an original a form that has to go to IRS for proof of the donation?
A:No, don't send the IRS a copy. Just KEEP the copy and report it on you income tax (Schedule A). If you get audited, you will need to show it.

100% Q: Would you donate to the American Diabetes Association?
I know this may not be the right place to be asking for donations, but being that I don’t know that many people I figured this couldn’t hurt. This June I will be riding in the Tour de Cure, a bike ride aimed to raise money for diabetes research, education, and advocacy. I have set a personal goal of raising $175 and a team goal of $1,200. So far my we’ve only raised 12% of our desired goal. With your help we could achieve our goal and, more importantly, we can exceed it. If you are one of the 20 million Americans affected by diabetes or if you are a family member of one of those 20 million than you know how hard it is to deal with. By donating to this great charity you can help improve the lives of all those affected. Any amount, no matter how big or how small, helps in this great cause. To donate online please follow the link below http://tour.diabetes.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=4363&px=3209672 To donate by check please send me a message. Thank you very much
A:Sorry, I've gotten far more help for my diabetes from books, the Internet, and others who have it and are successful at taking care of it. To me the ADA is like the AMA... I'll just leave it at that so as to keep the thumbs downs to a manageable level.

100% Q: How do I know if the information on the American Diabetes Association website is correct and up-to-date?
www.diabetes.org
A:The ADA keeps their information current on their website. You can trust it, but don't use their information as a substitute for seeing your healthcare practitioner regularly if you have diabetes as it is very important to be monitored by someone trained to treat it.
