100% Q: How and to whom can I complain about the negligence of Dentist office people?
Really I got bitter experience because of total negligence of Dentist's front office people. That dentist also silent for my complaint against those people. So how can I teach them a lesson? To whom I have to complain ( I have strong witness about their negligence) about them? Thanks in advance Kris Can I complain to the Dental board even becaues of front end office staff too? Can I complain to the Dental board even becaues of front end office staff too?
A:You can vote with your feet - get a different dentist. You can also lodge a complaint with your state's licensing board. Link below.

100% Q: Do you have to be a board certified dentist to own a dentist office in the state of Indiana?
I would like to purchase a local dentist office that I feel is a good deal, but I am not a dentist by any means. However, I would of course employ board certified dentists!
A:I'm no expert by any means, but it seems to me that you should be able to form a corporation that would own a dental office and employ licensed dentists. Perhaps the better thing to do, though would be to buy the building (a real estate investment) and then lease it to a dentist or dental partnership. That way you are the landlord, but not practicing in a dental related field. There are, however, a lot of things to be considered when buying commercial property

100% Q: Can I get a refund from my dentist office?
I went to my dentist for a filling. The total amount for the filling was $113. When I was checking out the receptionist told me that I would have to pay $64.30 out of pocket and my insurance will cover the rest. I wondered how she knew that, but I assume from past claims they already knew what perecentage my insurance company was going to cover. I get my explantion of benefits in the mail and it seems my insurance covered $90.40 of the $113 (the dentist office submitted the full $113 to the insurance company). The EOB is saying my responsiblity to the dentist office is $22.60. Well I figured since I already paid the $64.30, can I ask the dentist office for my refund of $41.70? If so, how do I go about that?
A:The reason they "knew" anything about your insurance is because they probably called and got a "breakdown of benefits". The insurance company probably gave them a percentage, but not an actual dollar amount. A dental office is always supposed to submit the full amount of the procedure to the insurance, not the estimated amount. Had they only submitted the estimated amount, your insurance company might have only paid the $48.70. Dentists ALWAYS submit their actual charge, and then the insurance determines how much they will pay. In my office, when this happens, we always give the patient the option of either leaving the credit on their account to go towards future dental work, or getting a refund. Many leave it as a credit so they can get more work done, unless their work is completed, then we give them a refund check. Just contact the office and explain to the person who does the insurance that you understand that your insurance paid more than anticipated and that you would like the amount you overpaid refunded to you.

100% Q: What's my best recourse to follow up on being lied to by a dentist's office manager?
I opened my mail this morning and found out that the dentist office I took my daughters to last Sept. 27 wants to charge me for services after telling me I didn't have to pay. I was very happy to learn that I would not have to put forth any of my own money towards the consultation or the dentist fees for work recommended. I received a bill, sent out on Oct 4, 2007 for $132. The office manager told me she made a mistake but I was responsible anyway. Some people might believe that $123 is not enough to make such a fuss over. Dentist’s patients and/or their parents are repeatedly shocked by the expense of treatment and lack of insurance coverage. When we find out it's going to cost us $0 it's very exciting, I placed trust in these people but because of their negligence and lack of professional skills I feel betrayed and ripped off. They need to take some responsibility. What measures can I take to push them to act responsibly? So that it's clear, I was told my insurance covered the consultation therefore I did not owe a co-payment.
A:I'm not sure why they assured you you could receive free services, but if they did and the office manager admits it, and you relied on their assurance to procure their services, then they have violated a verbal agreement between the two of you. If you signed a form that was contrary to the verbal assurance, though, you are out of luck. I would write a letter explaining that the office manager said you would get free services and admits she made a mistake. Because of your mistake, you relied on her information to your detriment. This only works if you would not have gone to the office but for her assurances. If you were going to go to that dentist anyway, you probably would have to pay for the services they rendered.

100% Q: Do I have a legal right to take my dental file from my dentist office?
Is it not true that my dental file that is kept in the Dentist's office belong to me? I'm changing dentist and I want to take my dental file after I confront him about some issues. Do I have the legal right to take my file with me before leaving his office? Also do I have to let him have copys before taking the file?
A:All you have to do when you go to you new Dentist is sign a release of medical records and they will get you files for you. But you do have the right under the HIPPA laws to get a copy of you files. Your old dentist does also have the right to keep a copy of you records since he treated you in the past.
