The magazine counts as subscribers and advertisers practically every notable seller and collector of classic cars, including Jay Leno and his Big Dog Garage [1] [2], and most collector car clubs are included in its directory. The magazine was started by Ernest Hemmings in Quincy, Illinois, in 1954, then purchased by Terry Ehrich, who moved the operation to Bennington, Vermont in the late 1960s. 100% Q: What is the best website to advertise a classic car for sale on?

My husband wants me to place a for sale ad online for his 1965 Chrysler 300 non-letter series sport coupe convertible. I have been doing some searches and I have been thinking about Auto Trader Classics or Hemmings. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows which I should go with, if either. Thanks.

A:Hi! www.Autotraderclassics.com is a good site however when looking for a car for sale, I've often been frustrated that their site isn't updated frequently so several times I've called sellers just to find out the car had sold ages ago. It's also the most expensive to advertise on, up to $99 for their highest package. Buyers of classic cars are going to look in well-known places like www.carsonline.com or www.oldride.com or www.hemmings.com. When you advertise with any of these it will cost you from $9.95 to $45 depending on the amount of time your advertise and the type of ad you chose. The good news is, the people viewing the classifieds at any of these places are likely to be more serious buyers than those you would find on free classified sites like craigslist. A:Try looking in Classic car magazines, in the classifieds they usually have website links for dealers and advertisments online etc... Failing that what about trying to locate and contact a ford classics club, i'm sure there must be at least on ein the country and they could probably advise you.

100% Q: Where is a good place to sell classic Volkswagons?

I have a 74 Super Beetle I am trying to sell. Its in good shape and based on these classic car trader websites, I am asking an exceptionally low price for a car in good shape. Its by no means showroom quality but it runs well and looks great inside and out. I am trying to poll you car guys who might know an outlet for something that better than a starting point for a project car, but not a Showroom car. Auto trader insists I post with the classiccartrader.com but they charge 90 dollars a month for an ad. I have it posted through Craig's List and the local "Recycler". I don't mind paying to post, just so long as it sells. Any of you guys might have an Idea? Maybe a Volkswagen enthusiast site? Thanks a million.

A:www.thesamba.com is the best place to go. Its just VW enthusiasts so the car is less likely to be abused by the next owner. VWs are selling there for the same as elsewhere. eBay isnt bad, but too high risk for most people. And you dont know if the next person is going to chop it up, modify it horrible, or just neglect the car.
