I would like to get out of my cell phone contract with cingular. I read somewhere that you can sale your contract to someone else. This way I will not have to pay out for ending my contract early.

100% Q: Cingular cell phones- I keep getting a message about coming into a dealer to have my old SIM card replaced...

...with a new one "free of charge" because the old one may start "interrupting connections". However when I went in to have it done they told me that it couldnt be done to my particular model, and would I like to "upgrade" to a newer better "$250" one? Or I could take a free newer model that was cheap looking, too small, ugly version. When I pressed for more info I asked them if this was just an attempt by Cingular to have me buy an "updated" newer expensive model, and if I would start experiencing trouble with the old one I have. They told me "no problem with the old one" and "yes, we want you to get another more expensive one. The "free" replacement model they kept in the back of the store and wasnt even for sale it was so ugly. Scam?

A:That's how Cingular and any other service gets you. They tell you some BS to get you to buy another phone so they can make money off of you, it's a commission thing. If I were you, I'd wait till the sim card does start "interrupting connections" and then take it to a place and just get a new sim card. But personally, I doubt you'll have any trouble with the sim card.
