100% Q: what is the difference between a copperhead snake and a Burmese python snake?
i have a snake but i dont know if it is a Copperhead or a Burmese python
A:There are LOTS of differences - and neither make good pets for beginners! Copperheads are venomous snakes displaying markings that, from the side, look like Hershey's kisses (in color and shape). The dark brown (chocolate colored) markings are on a colored base of beige/tan (light flesh color). Burmese pythons are nonvenomous and come in a variety of colors due to selective breeding in the pet trade. A "natural" Burmese python also has dark markings, but the markings are randomly-shaped blotches along the sides and back of the snake. The markings are often edged in a greenish yellow line of scales. The base color of a "natural" burmese python is much lighter brown than the markings, but not as beige-looking as the base color of a copperhead. Do an image search on the web for more details - the 2 snakes look nothing alike. Really, if you don't know the difference here, you shouldn't be dealing with either snake. Sorry, but your not knowing tells me you don't have a lot of experience and/or knowledge about snakes. Both the copperhead and the Burmese python can cause serious injury, and the Burmese, once it attains some size, can kill you.

100% Q: How could I tell the gender of my Burmese Python Snake???
Please tell me how I can find out the gender of my Python. thanks
A:Best method for determining the gender of your snake would be to have an experienced keeper/breeder probe it for you. If the snake is still quite young or you have an experienced handler it can be "popped" which is much less invasive and preferred by most. Many reptile-centric pet shops offer sexing as a service. Call around and find out if your local shops can help you out. You can purchase your own probe kit for $20-$30, but I would advise you to have someone experienced show you how to use them before attempting it yourself.

100% Q: Burmese Python?
So I volunteer at a reptile rescue place... There is an albino burmese python there and as soon as I saw him I just fell in love with him... He is so sweet and just craves attention... The thing is he is up for adoption and he could be adopted any day... And the guy that runs the place says that its unusual for snakes to gain so much trust in someone as quickly as he did for me... So i want to bring him home... But how?!?!?? My gma and gpa own the home and hate snakes... Well... Any animal really... My mom says that if they say yes she will say yes... But they still say no... And when I try to talk them into it, they just yell at me and tell me to drop it... Ive offered to pay for everything and the snake will stay outside where they will never see him... and the guy at the reptile place is going to give me an "employee" discount... but they still say no... any help?!?!?!
A:well remember this they get 20 to 30 feet long and will need a room all to them self if i was you i would go to a small time owner operated pet store ask if you could pay to keep him there and when you move out you will have to give him his own room i have a 2 year old male albino burmese and he is already 8 feet long and he is a baby ive had larger in the past he lives in a large closet and have plans on giving him the basement to himself good luck just remember they are not for everyone

100% Q: which species of snakes has a calmer temperament, the anaconda or the burmese python?
A:ive had both and i never got bitten by my female albino burm even though she was over 13 ft long but my green anaconda well he was about 3 ft and i dont think there was a day that he didnt bite me. burms have a mice attitude and usually dont waste there energy on human food if you keep them right but all the anacondas ive taken care of dont mind taken a swipe at you every once and awhile ive held anacondas as small as 24" and as big as 14 ft and they all seem to have the same attitude towards human which is like them saying i rather kill you than to chill out but thats the nature of them. they get aggitated rather quickly and seem to have a real bad attitude when out of water. i figure that they re more uncomfurtable out of water being very heavy. by the way dont get a yellow anaconda they are pretty much the nastiest boa on the planet i classify them as having a devil like attitude and when you cross green and yellow they you pretty much have the devil. i remember taking care of a young juvi. hybrid yellow/green anaconda and the theing struck so many times that it would litteraly hop out of its shoe box. bad snake breeding if you ask me taking two nasty snakes and making a freak of nature.

100% Q: What do you do with a Burmese python (or similiar snake) when it gets too big?
A:Unless you know you can provide care for a snake that is going to grow from 12-20 feet you should steer clear of any of the large pythons or boas, since these folks are ruining it for responsible large snake owners. Zoos will not accept them and niether will local animal shelters. Well, some shelters will take them and kill them, but that is about the extent of it. If you have one you need to get rid of or know someone who does, look for a reptile rescue in your area. Many folks would suggest to sell it, but I think there are too many people out there who just want a big snake and have no clue what is required to handle a snake of that size. It isn't experienced large reptile handlers that get killed or seriously injured, its always the "I thought it would be cool..." types.
