Im looking to import ball pythons from africa does anyone know of any breeders from that area?

A:there are no ball python breeders in africa, most in the states are wild caught babies, then imported. herp breeders have alot of trouble breeding ball pythons sucessfully. there are only a few sucessful breeders and they concentrate on highly expensive color morphs, albino, hypo, leucistic etc. you gotta just find a dude who lives in the jungle and can find the babies, and good luck finding that guy, probably no phone lines or internet for three countries or more

100% Q: Are there any ball python breeders in or near San Antonio, TX?

If not, does anyone know of any good pet stores that sell healthy, captive-bred ball pythons here?

A:I'm not from the area, but if you haven't been dealing with snakes for a while, I'd consider another breed. They tend to go anorexic for no apparent reason. They get a lot of health problems, and definitely aren't for beginners. Maybe consider a corn snake or another similar collubrid? Good luck!

A:For as long as you had it, poor breeding is not likely the reason the one you had died. Be sure you are caring for them properly before getting another. If all you want is a normal ball python, you should just go to your local reptile swap and get one - normal males are $35 or less. It isn't worth paying shipping from somewhere further away. 100% Q: Ball python breeders near Northern NY?

I'm hoping to get a ball python within the next few months. I don't have much experience finding breeders and I was wondering th best way to go about finding one. I'm located in Northern NY and there is nothing up here, closest city is Syracuse, and that's about a 2.5 hour drive. I am not looking for any special morph, just a normal ball. Any info would be greatly appreciated. haha ball pythons get NOWHERE NEAR 14 feet, but thanks for the false information. well, there are many species of pythons. i keep snakes and i know what i can handle, a ball python gets to be 5ft at the very most and is on o the mos docile breeds available. the person who was killed by his snake was irresponsible. a 15ft snake should NEVER be handled by one person. that is simply common sense. it's the few irresponsible people that get their hands on large snakes in combination with ignorant people like you (no disrespct but you clearly don't know much about herps) that give th hobby a bad name. And I'm looking for a captive bred, not wild caught. Look at the question, it says breeders.
