A:Ask Jeeves - the search engine at ask.com - is intended to return web results based on questions phrased in natural human language. It doesn't answer questions as a human would, and for that reason could never pass a Turing test - the intent of the Turing test is for a computer to imitate a human to a degree where a person talking to it can't tell whether he's talking to another person or a computer - no computer program written today is close to passing a Turing test. The strength of the test is, in fact, that anything which "obviously doesn't think" will obviously fail it. As far as your question of whether Ask Jeeves is an AI - it depends how you define it! I came across this site months ago, but can't find it again. It will tell you how many results are from each engine when you search in their engine, and also split the results into multiple panes. It wasn't dogpile or metasearch.
